With the recent “zero-day exploit” found for Oracle’s Java, a few of you out there might want to disable Java in your browser because of the possibility of being hacked. Here are the steps to block Java from loading in your Google Chrome web browser.

Step 1) Open up Google Chrome and go to Preferences. Click on Advanced Preferences as shown in the picture above.

Step 2) Scroll down to the Privacy heading and click on Content Settings as shown above.

Step 3) Under Plug-ins, click on Disable Individual Plug-ins.

Step 4) Lastly, find the Java plugin and click on the Disable link, as shown above.

You have just disabled Java. You may need Java to run some web applets or applications but for now, it is best to leave it blocked. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below!
